What is the Central Texas Young Birders Club?

Central Texas Young Birders Club is a multi-county club for young birders and their parents, the only club of its kind in Texas.  We are based in the area between Austin and San Antonio, but anyone can join who can join us for birding.  We take monthly field trips from September to June to great birding locations, where we learn about the bird species we are seeing, see their habitat, and discuss ways to save the environment for these wonderful birds.  We learn together, teach each other what we know, and experience together the joy of sighting a lifer—your first sighting of a species—and the fun of identifying ones you already know. 

The Central Texas Young Birders Club brings together young birders and their parents to enjoy birding in Central Texas throughout the year.  We go birding at state parks, local and county parks, wildlife preserves, treatment plants, and private properties where we can arrange for access.

We participate in national conservation efforts and bird counts, such as the Christmas Bird Counts, The Great backyard Bird Count, and The Great Texas Coastal Birding Classic.

We are a small. friendly club that would like to encourage other young people to join us birding and spreading the joy of birding.
